Vietnam International Digital Week 2025 Kicks Off in Ninh Binh, Focusing on Responsible AI and Global Tech Collaboration

With a central theme of "AI Governance," the summit gathers 800 global leaders to shape the future of responsible AI; Sotatek joins industry giants for strategic networking and dialogue.

October 27, 2025 - The Vietnam International Digital Week (VIDW) 2025 officially commenced today in the historic province of Ninh Binh, marking its significant role as one of the region's most prestigious annual forums on digital transformation since its inception in 2019.

Running from October 27-29, this year's event, centered on the critical theme of "AI Governance," has convened approximately 800 domestic and international delegates. The summit serves as a high-level strategic forum for policymakers, international organizations, and leading technology enterprises.

The event is hosted by Vietnam's Ministry of Science & Technology (MOST) and the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee. Its primary goal is to foster international cooperation and, most pressingly, to establish the essential strategies, policies, and legal frameworks for the safe, transparent, and responsible development of artificial intelligence.

High-Level Dialogue on a Human-Centric AI

The week kicked off with a Ministerial-level Roundtable on AI Governance, setting a collaborative tone.

In his opening remarks, Minister of Science and Technology Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng emphasized Vietnam's vision. He stated that sustainable AI development must rest on four key pillars: strong AI institutions, modern AI infrastructure, AI talent, and a "human-centric AI culture."

"Today's session is not just a policy dialogue, but a forum of trust and cooperation," Minister Hùng remarked. "Together, we will share and shape AI institutions in the region and across the globe."

The event features a prominent list of international partners, including the ITU, United Nations, ASEAN, World Bank, EU, UNESCO, and the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT), alongside ministerial delegations from ASEAN, Africa, Australia, South Korea, and the United States.
